Katy Perry Costume's

Katy is known for playing up to the stereotypical view on 'women' , usually dressing in hot pants and revealling parogative outfits , she leaves little to the imagination. However more recently in her music videos such as firework she embodys a more elegant and reserved charactter , dressing in long shiffon dresses. This too is feminine however is a different type of femininity.It is not your average hot pants and pink crop top feminine , it is a more demure yet confident character that is portrayed in her music videos. This createas a much stronger audience emphasism towards the artist katy perry as they do not feel intimidated or threatened by her sexy image , instead they envy her admirable image. We will use this when filming or music video by using elegant and demure outfits , reavealing only the slightest of our artists body as we feel this is more conventinal of artists today to be more reserved instead of portraying a 'glamour model' type figure in their videos.

Katy perry is our chosen artist in which we will create a music video that involves our own creative input aswell as considering The artist we will construct our video around , focusing on the music artist themselves , their character and the narrative in their music video which is presented to the audience. Through the explosion of her career her music videos have catapulted through every source of media possible. Thus constructing an image of her for the media to portray to audiences. Her music videos reflect her adventerous character. Whilst mostly feminine and typically girly , from the pink candy floss in calafornia girls and sunglasses and hotpants in teenage dream , katy manages to portray an alter ego. This unexpected element in her music video gains added interest in not only Katy herself but too the video. Her music video can be seen as more of a short film or story rather than a filmed shoot to accompany a song. Her music videos are adventurous and entertaining with a strong narrative that maintains audiences interest and audience relatbility.

As Production into A2

Throughout my As media production i feel i aqquired essential skills and knowledge that i can carry through to my A2 project. When chosing what type of project i would unterake during my studies in As media i chose to create a music magazine.Chosing this particular choice of project i was able to carry out indepth research into the media and its entirity , thus of which invited me to learn vaulable information that give me ample amounts of knowledge for A2. At the beginning of the project admitably using photoshop was not a process during my production i felt i would be able to use and gain from it what i had wished. However through constant practice aswell as producing sample work to work through a sort of trial and error stage in order to then feel condfident using the programme. I know have the undetstanding and ability to not only use the programme but also succeed in gaining the standard of work i would expect for my media project as a result. This will help throughout my A2 media production even though the demand and standards will be higher im feel As has enabled me to develop the aqquistion of media skills required from A2.
